Upon checking in I was told Suite was ready but needed inspection after waiting an hour I saw the hotel manager in lobby and explained my situation to him He very graciously took care of situation and checked us in I believe I would still be waiting for inspection .Poor communication between front desk and house keeping Keep in mind the room was clean simply needed inspection. I approached front desk three different times to inquire about status Have to improve that piece of the puzzle If it would have been easy I would have left to find another Hotel Front desk supervisor not very helpful Thank God I spotted Hotel manager very helpful and accommodating.
Great service!
I brought my niece here for her 17th birthday (yes lucky girl!). I had not been back to the hotel since it was called the Taj. I had a few decades of experience at the property and I was curious to see what it looked like after a 10 year absence. I was more than pleased! I relished in the tasteful way they had transformed the hotel and used the space differently. The transformation into The Newbury does this prestigious address justice and brings it into the modern era of refined luxury and taste. The staff in all of their different roles were perfect, not only with us but with the other guests I observed them helping. I highly recommend a stay here. I will be back.
Everything about our visit was terrific. The valet was very personable, the registration person was very welcoming. Drinks in the Street Bar were very relaxing. The room was spacious with a great view of the Public Garden. Breakfast in the Contessa was delicious, and the view was gorgeous. We’ll come back.

A fabulous small hotel with very quiet rooms, staff always wanting to help and a wonderful old bar, plus a great restaurant overlooking the entire city.
